Making the most of the beautiful Devon setting, by incorporating floor to ceiling glazing.
This beautifully unique home was created by Rural Development Projects, after being instructed by the homeowners, on a corner of the families farm land, in West Hill, Devon.
The single storey dwelling, has been designed to make the most of the views across a beautifully landscaped garden, out to acres of fields beyond.
In order to make the most of these views, floor to ceiling aluminium glazing was selected for the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, which occupy the symmetrical rear of the property.
On the exterior of the property the aluminium glazing is teamed with a mixture of tier stone walls and chestnut timber cladding, with a zinc roof, creating a contemporary look whilst blending into the properties surroundings.
The glazing accounts for a large proportion of the back of the house, therefore the homeowners were looking for a company that would be reliable, knowledgeable and produce quality products that would compliment their brand new-home. The homeowners choose Aspect Windows after being recommended by their developer.
After a visit to our Exeter showroom, the homeowners were able to experience the different products on offer. Based on their requirements, budget and advice from Aspect Windows consultants they decided upon the products they wanted for their new home, which included; two sets of bi-fold doors, large fixed windows, two gable windows, two sets of French doors, a lantern roof light and two residential doors, one being an impressive double entrance door.
The two sets of bi-folding doors, in the living room, with three-panes in each, allow the family to extend their home out onto the patio area and the views beyond. With a lantern rooflight sitting above, the home is filled with light. One gable window was fitted in the master bedroom, along with a set of French doors and large fixed windows, meaning that the bedroom benefits from a lot of natural light. Allowing the couple to enjoy countryside views from their room all year round and open the French doors in the summer to let in the fresh air. The second gable was fitted in the open plan kitchen/ diner as well as French doors and fixed windows, making this space perfect for entertaining all year round.
The elegant and modern main double entrance door, makes quite the first impression. A second single entrance door, sits on the side of the property, complete with a panel of frosted glass. Traffic Grey – RAL 7043, was chosen for the windows and door frames to complement the stone walls and zinc roof.
Overall, the family have achieved the exact look they envisaged, and absolutely love their new windows and doors.
