Glazing is not only for exterior walls. It also works fantastically inside, to help draw in light to the darker corners of your home.
Open plan living has become popular, however removing walls isn’t always a practical solution. Internal glazing such as; glass divides, internal windows and glazed doors can be used to give the illusion of open plan living. With a sense of flow and connectivity whilst also having the benefit of separate rooms or zones. Without compromising on light or space.
Rather than having a solid wall, there are a number of different options to help create a light-filled seamless flowing home, with the benefit of separate rooms. They include:
A floor to ceiling glass wall with minimalist metal frames, slim sight-lines and iconic grid-like designs. Bespoke and handmade, giving you the flexibility to create a solution which meets your design and space requirements. Whilst creating a timeless architectural glazing feature. A glass wall will help make the space feel bigger as you are able to see into the room beyond. Whilst the space remains clearly defined. A glass wall will also make the room lighter, as natural light from adjoining rooms fill the space.
Either hinged, pivot, sliding or bi-folding internal glass doors are available. Combine with a glass screen or use as a room divider in its own right. The glazed door allows the space to be closed off and opened up when required, whilst helping to keep the flow between different spaces. It also has the added benefit of light being able to penetrate through, whilst the room can still be shut off for better sound and heat installation.
In rooms where greater privacy is required, such as for a home office, obscure glass can be used. Which will still let the light through but obscures the room from view, or obscures the room from distractions! Also useful for rooms such as utility rooms, where you might need to hide drying laundry but still wish for light to flood the room.
The whole wall doesn’t have to be taken with floor to ceiling glass. A window can be added to an internal wall, allowing you to still borrow the natural light from an adjoining room, but also use the wall space below for furniture. An internal windows will help the room to feel bright and airy, whilst creating a sense of connection between the two rooms, without being totally open plan.
Whether you choose a striking glass partition, a glazed door or an internal window between rooms, as well as providing natural light to spaces which struggle and providing the feeling of open plan living, internal glazing also has the added benefit of creating a striking architectural feature. The grid pattern offers a timeless design which suits all house types, from contemporary to traditional.
At Aspect Windows we offer two different internal glazing solutions to help you create the perfect architectural feature, one made of aluminium, the other steel, both offering the iconic grid like appearance. Manufactured from the finest grade materials.
