The Rationel window range is moving under the VELFAC name, bringing the products together as part of one clear VELFAC line-up.
Aspect Windows have previously supplied Rationel and VELFAC. Our offering remains the same, with some small updates to VELFAC’s product range that we would like to explain to you.
If you have previously researched, specified or had Rationel windows installed, the change is simple. Rationel AURAPLUS is now known as VELFAC Ribo, while Rationel FORMAPLUS is now VELFAC Classic.
Although the names have changed, the products retain the familiar design characteristics and performance that made them so popular. The wider range now sits under one recognisable brand, alongside the established VELFAC 200 system.
What has changed?
The two former Rationel systems have been renamed:
For customers who already have Rationel windows, or who previously received a quotation under the Rationel name, this is primarily a change of branding.
You may therefore see both the old and new product names referenced while the transition takes place.
We apologise for any confusion caused during this time.
VELFAC Ribo, formerly Rationel AURAPLUS
VELFAC Ribo is a versatile composite casement window suited to both traditional and modern British homes.
The system combines slim sightlines with generous areas of glass, helping more natural light enter the home.

Optional glazing bars can also be added for a more traditional appearance.
Available with double or triple glazing, VELFAC Ribo can achieve U-values as low as 0.77 W/m²K when triple glazed. This makes it a strong option for replacing older, underperforming windows or specifying glazing for a new extension or home.
VELFAC Classic, formerly Rationel FORMAPLUS
VELFAC Classic is a flush-faced composite casement window created for projects where a more characterful, heritage-inspired appearance is required.
Its slim frames help maximise the glazed area, while optional glazing bars are available in a variety of arrangements.

You can also select different finishes inside and out, allowing the windows to complement both the interior of the home and its external character.
VELFAC Classic is available with aluminium-clad timber frames and can be specified with double or triple glazing. Triple-glazed units can achieve U-values as low as 0.80 W/m²K, combining a traditional aesthetic with modern thermal performance.
Where does VELFAC 200 fit into the range?
The VELFAC 200 remains the contemporary option within the range.
Its ultra-slim, uniform frames create a clean architectural appearance and maximise natural light, making it particularly well suited to modern extensions, renovations and new-build homes.
The triple-glazed system combines an aluminium exterior with a natural timber interior and can achieve a U-value of approximately 0.8 W/m²K.

In simple terms, VELFAC 200 offers the most contemporary aesthetic, VELFAC Ribo provides broad versatility, and VELFAC Classic is designed for a more traditional or heritage-led appearance.
Which VELFAC window is right for your project?
Choosing between the three systems depends on your property’s style, the look you want to create, and your project’s performance requirements.
Seeing the products and finishes in person can make that decision much easier. As an approved VELFAC supplier and installer, Aspect Windows can guide you through the range, explain the differences and help identify the most appropriate option for your home.
